What is a CE Certificate
Meaning
For a product to circulate freely in European countries, it must bear marks indicating compliance with standards set by ISO. The CE certificate is not a document but rather a mark found on the product packaging.
How to Obtain
The CE mark, which indicates product compliance with designated directives, was established within the framework of the New Approach Policy adopted by the International Organization for Standardization in 1985. Products bearing this mark can circulate freely and be offered for sale and marketed in European countries. In a general sense, we can call the CE certificate the passport for a product. This passport is an important mark that allows the product to circulate and be marketed freely. This mark, which is not a quality certificate, is accepted as the manufacturer's declaration of conformity. A product bearing this mark indicates that it has been manufactured in a way that does not threaten the health of humans, animals, the environment, and plants. Products with this symbol allow customers to choose safe products that do not pose a risk. The purpose of the mark is to ensure that product safety is understood with a single mark within the European Economic Area. The CE certificate is not issued by any organization. This mark is affixed to the product by the manufacturer. In other words, the manufacturer guarantees the safety of the product they manufacture by using this mark. Products found to not meet the necessary requirements despite bearing this mark in European countries are recalled from the market, and severe penalties are imposed on the manufacturer. Therefore, the manufacturer must not abuse the principle of trust.
